Thirty eight today and planning a marvellous day of inky goodness to celebrate...

I've just finished this month's page in a circle journal for the Rebel Stampers challenge...
Here are some swatch cards I made for the Spring Seasonal Distress Inks from the amazing Tim Holtz, just got to print out and attach the names, I can't decide whether Squeezed Lemonade or Peacock Feathers is my favourite colour...mind you, Shaded Lilac isn't bad either!
These new stamps have been inked up, stamped on white card stock and are about to be laminated and stored away for reference...
And finally I have been playing with my new storage, they are the divider trays from inside Really Useful Boxes, but when turned on their sides they are a perfect fir for all things Distress...and they even have holes in the corners so I'm hoping to persuade my DH that they could be mounted onto the wall above my desk, how fabulous would that be, to have all my inks just a stretched arm away??
Please hop over to Julia's site and check out more WOYWWers...
Happy birthday Sophie.
ReplyDeleteLove your storage - it really is ideal, or should I say 'really useful' - bad joke I know.
Happy WOYWW!!

Genius storage ideas and I think you should make extra colour swatches so you can create a rainbow piece of art. It would make your beautiful swatches even more incredible.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely words about my ATCs. You're right, the Union Jack is getting a major artistic work out right now, and it is fun to see.
And finally, a huge Happy Birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day. No, wait, I hope you have an amazing birthday week!
cheers, rachel #19
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU!!!! Hope you have a great day! loving the idea for the box inserts, they would be great on the wall, and you are so organised laminating the stamped images, colour swatches etc... you put me to shame :o) x April #100
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sophie! How nice to have inky plans on your birthday! You seem to be getting very organised in deed. I am making storage for my blending foams today.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Helen 107
P.S. Please pop to see Angenita (89) as she could do with a WOYWW hug today (pass it on)
I have my most used inks to hand and I can assure you it is a brilliant idea. Your other half MUST put those sections on the wall - besides which they look good!
ReplyDeleteI stamp and laminate my um's too, still got lots to do as I have been lazy recently but hey ho, one day I will catch up. I store the stamps on the back of the cards and pt them in boxes on their ends.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #21 xx

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday! i think my fav is peacock feathers......!!! happy woyww! Trish #71
ReplyDeleteHi Sophie,
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, I'm sure you'll have a great day. I love the storage idea, Can you fit ink pads in them or are they too small for that? You have a good collection of reinkers I think I'ii have to invest in some now, my pads are getting a bit dry, plus I could use them for loads of other things! Seem to be spending all my money on papers and dies at the moment as I'm into mini albums(check out my tutorials) I like to share my ideas. Enjoy today
X Julie
LOL! I got one of those tray too - I mean, really? at that price why wouldn't you?? They work so well. And I am singing along - be thankful you can't her it :D
ReplyDeleteMary Anne (4)
Happy birthday to you! It is good that you cannot hear me singing it at this end.......I have one of those trays and keep my Distress Ink pads in mine, standing against but sadly not on the wall. Since it is your birthday I think hubby should be kind to you and mount it on the wall for you. If you like the Peacock colour you really need to get the latest ones, the Ocean is to die for!! Happy WOYWW, Anne x #43
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day filled with gifts and cake!
ReplyDeleteLove the storage idea too.
Happy WOYWW

Have a super inky splodgy happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteLaura 94
Well, Happy Birthday! I must admit it was your "Birthday Girl" nametag, that made me come and visit - but now I'm glad I did because of the gorgeousness on your desk. Those inks do make some fab stuff... the colours are so lovely - I want some too! I only own 1 (!) Tim Holtz product... imagine that...just one. Maybe I really need more!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, to ink up your new stamps, make reference sheets and keep them to remind you of what you have. I have to go through my stamps from time to time, just to remind me... I wonder how long it would take to make up a set of sheets with all my existing stamps!
Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHow uber organised are you? Then I noticed you are a retired bio-chemist. Orderly desk orderly mind!
I love those colours of the new stamps, it's difficult to keep up with them all isn't it?
Jaki #104
Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy it to the fullest! what a marvelous idea for your inks and sprays! Love the bright colors! Thanks so much for visiting me and leaving a comment! Valerie #55

Happy WOYWW and Birthday!! You are so organised. I haven't got a huge number of stamps, so I may well start stamping them all onto sheets as reference. Even with a relatively small number, I end up rummaging through my stamp drawer looking for the one I want. I love the Limited Edition DIs. They are high on my wish list. Ali x #61
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sophie. Guessing you haven't got the Summer Set of distress yet, surely some birthday money to splash out??? Thanks for stopping by BJ#47 < my age minus one oh dear I feel old now!! you have 10 years on me - LOL

Lots of lovely crafting and love your storage for your inks. Thanks for sharing your workspace with us. Hope you have a good week. Hazel WOYWW #87 x
ReplyDeleteClever use of those storage inners but if it was me I would be knocking them over all the time - clumsy is my middle name.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the spring DIs, don't know which is my favourite, and I'm sure you will find it hard to choose a fav from the summer ones once they arrive.
Thanks for visiting earlier - only just back from a day out in the sunshine.

Hi Sophie, sorry I’m so late in getting to you this week. It’s seems to take longer and longer each week, plus I’ve been busy too hence me only just visiting.
ReplyDeleteYou’ve probably forgotten about it by now, but I hope you have a lovely birthday.
Love your desk shots this week and you’ve done something that I’ve been meaning to do for ages…………swatches for my distress inks…….I will get around to it one day, Lol!
I have those boxes that you have too, for storing my distress ink pads, they fit in there perfectly and sit on the back of my desk, close at hand and ready to use.
Happy Crafting!

I like the stamps too. I am just thinking of a way to catalog my stamps so I can know what I have. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
See you next week.

Hello!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost Wednesday again - I am so late returning visits! I love the ink storage - hope that you have it on your wall now! Wishing you a belated birthday and that it was a good one!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Awesome storage for your inks! Love all the projects I saw in your space there. Sorry I'm so late re-visiting from last week. Here it is Wednesday again on WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed this last week, Sophie. Awesome storage idea. Definetely an example of "thinking outside the [really useful] box" lol! (sorry...) Love the spring DI's - must get myself a set of those!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent comment on my blog about taking part in the WOYWW ATC swap - sorry to be so long responding but I've been really poorly after overdoing it with the recent craft show and I'm terribly behind with everything. I can't find your email address anywhere on your blog - could you please hop over to mine and use the link to my email on there, and let me have your address? Can't guarantee how quickly you'll get your ATC but you will get it eventually!
Thanks.
Shoshi
Hi Sophie, haven't seen you around for a while and hope you are OK. If so, are you still interested in swapping ATCs with me? I can't find your email address. You'll find a link to mine on my blog - could you please email me with your address if you will want to swap? I've got an ATC here ready and waiting to send off to you.
ReplyDeleteReally hope all is well with you...
Shoshi
